Academic Experts Emphasize Modern Educational Reforms at KIET Seminar

Quality Enhancement cell of KIET  organized an insightful academic session focusing on SDG-linked education and curriculum internationalization, bringing together educationists, faculty members, researchers, and participants from both physical and online platforms. Forum all over PakistanIhigher education institutes . The session was organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sajida parveen director  QEC  The event aimed to highlight the importance of aligning educational systems with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting internationally compatible curricula to meet modern academic and professional challenges.

The keynote speaker, Ms. Sanam Soomro, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Dow University of Health Sciences, shared her expertise, research findings, and professional insights with the participants. During her presentation, she highlighted valuable data, co-related statistics, practical recommendations, and contemporary educational trends associated with curriculum development and quality enhancement.

Participants highly appreciated the informative and research-oriented discussion, which emphasized the role of sustainable education practices, academic innovation, and institutional collaboration in improving educational standards.

The session was followed by an interactive open-house question-and-answer segment in which both online and in-person participants actively engaged with the speaker and exchanged ideas on academic reforms, curriculum planning, and policy implementation.

Director QEC also describe the ESG dimension in education and described the session as highly knowledgeable and intellectually enriching, particularly due to its strong focus on technical expertise and practical educational strategies.

At the conclusion of the event, the KIET’s president Prof. Dr Muhammad Khalid khan presented an official shield to Ms. Sanam Soomro in recognition of her valuable contribution. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Director KIET.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Sajida parveen expressed hope that with continued support from relevant authorities, important educational areas and policy matters would continue to be addressed effectively and in a timely manner.

Aligning Business Education with HEC’s Revised NQF Standards: Strategy & Implementation

  3. Systemic Purpose: It acts as a vital tool for driving structural reforms within a country’s higher education system, ensuring quality assurance and creating a standardized, transparent path for student progression.

Strategic Roadmap to pree- navigating psg 2030 Compliance

QEC KIET organized a zoom session which was done by a very seasoned and professional

This session focused on understanding how Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can strategically prepare for and align with the HEC Pakistan quality assurance framework (PSG-2023 and related standards leading toward PSG 2030 compliance). It emphasized institutional readiness, quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement mechanisms.

Key points covered:

  1. Quality Assurance Framework Understanding
  2. a) Overview of HEC’s PSG-2023 standards for institutional and program-level quality.
  3. b) Emphasis on internal and external quality assurance systems (RIPE, PREE, IQAE/QEC).
  4. Institutional Compliance Readiness
  5. a) Importance of aligning governance, academic programs, and research with HEC policies.
  6. b) Strengthening documentation, evidence collection, and self-assessment practices.
  7. Pre-Navigation Strategy for Compliance
  8. a) Early identification of gaps in academic, administrative, and research systems.

Conclusion:

The session highlighted that achieving PSG 2030 compliance requires a proactive, evidence-based, and continuous quality improvement approach rather than a one-time compliance effort.

The Department of Mathematics at KIET, in collaboration with the University of Karachi, organized “Ava1anche Connect with Team 1” featuring expert talks on blockchain technology. Panel Discussion on 'Are We Trapped in the Web of Fake News?'

KIET QEC hosted a panel discussion on titled “Are We Trapped in the Web of Fake News?” featuring  journalists Faizullah Khan (Senior Journalist, ARY News), Ajmal Malik (Editor, Nawashta-e-Deewar), Shahid Ali (Senior Economist), Akhtar Ali Shaheen Rind (Senior Journalist and Anchor), Prof. Dr. Irfan Aziz (Mass Communication from FAUSST ) and Azmat Ali Khan, (Senior Journalist) who addressed the dangers of misinformation. The session highlighted the need for media literacy, critical thinking, and ethical journalism in today’s digital landscape.

Youm-e-Tashakkur
