Pakistan Education Foundation

Pakistan Education Foundation (PEF) was established in 1997 under the Societies Act of 1860 as a not-for-profit organization by a group of dedicated individuals led by its founder, Late Dr. Muhammad Izhar ul Hasan. With a mission to provide affordable, quality education and to contribute meaningfully to the social sector, PEF launched the Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET) after receiving its charter in 2000.

A key milestone was the joint venture with the Pakistan Air Force, which led to the establishment of the Korangi Creek Campus inaugurated by then Chief of Air Staff ACM P. Q. Mehdi. Over the past two decades, KIET has grown into one of the country’s leading institutions. PEF also launched PEF Intermediate College in 2000 and a purpose-built campus in Ahsanabad in 2016. The foundation remains committed to its core values of inclusivity, merit-based support, and creating a positive impact through non-commercial, collaborative educational initiatives.

For College of Engineering

KIET College of Engineering aims to promote well-endowed engineering education, outstanding research programs and pretension less service to our students. The college offers four years Bachelors of Engineering program which includes degrees in Electrical, Avionics, Mechatronics and Software Engineering approved by Pakistan Engineering Council. A PEC approved degree adds more value as it follows Outcome Based Education System (OBE) under the Washington accord. As a result all BE programs of KIET including BE Electrical, BE Mechatronics, BE Avionics and BE Software are recognized as equivalent degree in Washington accord partner countries. Moreover PEC ensures many strict checks & balances to ensure high quality standards of the program.
